Gleaning & Cooking Project

Gleaning, Cooking and Preservation

This project is planned for National Food Day 2013.  Last fall, Grow Food Amherst got started by inviting community members to glean (collect left-over vegetables from a  local farm) to be shared with others and used in a cooking and preservation workshop.

The first two projects organized by Grow Food Amherst with the support of Sustaining Amherst were a gleaning activity followed by a cooking and preservation workshop as part of National Food Day celebration.  The story may be found at the Transition Amherst Webpage.
